The Echeverría family has owned and managed Finca Capetillo since the 1940's. Finca Capetillo is a farm located near the Acatenango volcano in the Antigua region of Guatemala. Antigua is one of the oldest and best known coffee growing region in Guatemala, and has played an important role in the development of coffee ever since the Jesuit missionaries introduced coffee to the country in 1760. Capetillo and neighboring farms also managed by the Echeverria family has over 300 hectares of coffee in production, and processes coffees using both the natural and washed methods. The farm is part of the APCA association, guaranteeing its Antigua origin. It has won several best coffee in APCA competition and has participated in the Cup of Excellence auction in the past.
